'cock howl' (for A.G.)

Poet of greatness, Allan Ginsberg, painted as an homage.

'Howl' is a great poem, though not my favorite of his.

'Cock(s)', well, he liked them for sure.

The cross is a nifty composition but is not to signify in any way some crazy religious belief/fantasy/lie of A. G. or myself.   He was a buddhist, myself a non-believer; an accepter of science/knowledge.

Feature 2

Verso of 'cock howl', I put them together after the components are all painted.  I buy the wood, design a compostion I like, then the idea of the subject matter comes (or at the same time) and then I draw the art and then paint it.

All my work is always titled, signed; and dated on the back (at least it is post-1985 or so).

Feature 3

As with much of my work, it is unframed but often the sides are painted with the same precision as the front surface.  Even the sides that abutt each other are painted (in case the composition changes or pieces do not fit tight (a proper shop and not a kitchen table would be nice).

Thus a little homage to Allen Ginsberg, a great poet, a human being who did his best.  He howled.  And he liked xcock.

Good for him, the honest life.
